About

The Georgian Association of Endocrinology and Metabolism (GAEM) with outstanding support of European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and International Society of Endocrinology, is organising an International Conference on Geriatric Endocrinology from 25 to 26 May, 2019. The meeting topics will focus on the diagnostics and management peculiarities of the most common endocrine disorders in elderly. Internationally acknowledged experts in geriatric endocrinology will share their knowledge and experience with the Georgian colleagues.

An increase of the population’s life expectancy due to the advancement of medicine has led to detecting and managing different kinds of chronic diseases in elderly patients more commonly. As the endocrine diseases acquire number of peculiarities in this age group, suspecting an endocrine disorder, interpreting the investigation results and managing these endocrine problems require specific clinical skills. Moreover, the medical literature concentrating on this issue is insufficient and there is no substantial evidence-based data regarding the safety and efficacy of managing endocrine disorders in elderly. Attempting to fill the aforementioned gaps is one of the main goals of our conference.

We look forward to seeing you in Tbilisi!
